The poor: 1605

In the meantime Don Quixote tampered with a labourer, a neighbor of his, and an honest man (if such an epithet may be given to one that is poor), but very shallow-brained.
--From Don Quixote de la Mancha--

The elite today would never say such a thing, but they sure seem to act like they think it's true.

Cervantes was obviously a Rethuglican.

Or maybe he's speaking with his tongue firmly planted in cheek. Sort of the Jon Stewart of his time.

I think you're doing Cervantes a disservice. We'll have to let history judge Jon Stewart, but I bet he doesn't age well.

I haven't read Cervantes in a long, long time but you are inspiring me to dust off my copy.

Thanks.
